Kaua’i, one of the island of Hawai’i, has been honored the #1 island in Hawai’i by Travel + Leisure magazine’s 2006 World’s Best Awards. The award was given away on the bases of the readership survey that was conducted during the first quarter of 2006 to determine the World’s Best Islands.
The selected islands were judged by the respondents on the bases of five characteristics such as natural attraction, activities/sights, restaurants/food, people; and value. Kaua’i is the Hawai’i that island which is dreamt about by everyone, where you can bask on a widely opened beach and discover minutes later hiking via a tropical rainforest. Kauai was ranked second among the entire listing of World’s Best Islands
