Surfers are showing there grit at the O’Neill World Cup of Surfing, Sunset Beach, Oahu, Hawaii to win the Vans Triple Crown. The championship kicked off on 25 November and will last till 6 December 2005.
Japan, Australia, Mainland USA, Spain, Indonesia, Brazil, Puerto Rico, Reunion Island, Great Britain, South Africa, France, Germany, New Zealand, Tahiti, Canary Islands, Portugal, and Hawaii are representing this year’s O’Neill World Cup of Surfing.
The reigning world champion Sofia Mulanovich (Peru), winner of the first women’s Triple Crown competition Chelsea Georgeson (Australia), and Hawaii’s Rochelle Ballard and Bethany Hamilton, and the six-time world champion Layne Beachley are here to beat the waves.
